WE HOPE YOU FIND THE ANSWERS TO ANY DOUBTS YOU MAY HAVE ABOUT BACALAR...

Bacalar is located 40 kilometers north of Chetumal (the state capital of Quintana Roo) and approximately 335 kilometers south of Cancun (about 4 hours by car).
You can reach Chetumal by domestic flights only and by bus or car. Take a taxi from the airport ($ 350 MXN) or rent a car. We can also help you by arranging transport from the airport to the hotel.
Coming by bus? Take a taxi from the ADO bus terminal that is located at the entrance of the town on the main highway. (About $ 30 MXN). Coming by bus from Cancun? A bus ticket is approximately $ 850 MXN one way (prices may vary).

Getting around in Bacalar is very easy: streets parallel to the lagoon are the odd numbered streets, with the Coastal avenue being #1, while the streets that cross these are the even numbered ones.
To visit any place they will give you two streets, by their numbers and with it you will be able to locate yourself without any problems.

Since Bacalar is a small town, everything is very close and it is not necessary to rent a car; you can get around quite comfortably on foot, by bicycle or taxi.

Yes. There is a Banco Azteca which offers money exchange services and there are two ATMs in the main square (Banorte, Santander) that during high season can often run out of cash. Be prepared.

Bacalar can be warm to hot all year-round and temperatures can become extreme. Even for short walks around town we always suggest wearing sunscreen (Biodegradable to protect the lagoon in case you go swimming), wear a cap or hat, drink plenty of water and wear appropriate clothing, and preferably light colors.
